# 💡Updating

### 💡 Keeping Hylead Survival Up to Date

> #### 🛑 Crucial: Don't Skip Versions!
>
> You must update your server sequentially. Jumping over versions (e.g., skipping from 1.4 directly to 3.0) can break your configuration and database.
>
> Correct Path: 1.4.2 ➡️ 1.5.0 ➡️ 1.5.2 ➡️ 1.5.3 ➡️ 1.6.0 ➡️ 1.7.0

#### 🛠️ Safe Update Protocol

Step 1: The Golden Rule (<mark style="color:$danger;">Backup First!</mark>) 💾&#x20;

> Before touching a single file, create a full backup of your server. Whether it's a local copy or a cloud snapshot, it is always better to be safe than sorry. If anything goes wrong, you can revert in seconds.

Step 2: Check the Changelog 📝&#x20;

> Each Hylead Survival update comes with a specific changelog. Read it carefully to see if any specific plugin dependencies (like ModelEngine or MythicMobs) also need an update.

Step 3: Sequential Installation 🔄&#x20;

> Apply the updates one by one. If you are several versions behind, install each intermediate version, start the server once to let the configs migrate, and then proceed to the next one.

Once you've reached the latest version, your players can enjoy the new content with zero downtime or issues.

### 🛠️ Update Process (v1.5.2)

Follow these steps to update your server quickly:

#### Step 1: General Update 📂

1. Cleanup: Delete the 📂`dungeons` folder.
2. Open the folder `Update Files 1.5.2`.
3. Select all its content and drag it into your server's root directory.
4. When prompted, select "Replace All" or "Overwrite".

Follow these steps to update your server quickly:

#### Step 1: General Update 📂

1. Cleanup: Delete `BattlePass.jar` and `PicoJobs.jar`, and the folders HyleadBattlePass, PicoJobs, ModelEngine, MythicMobs, Geyser-spigot/extensions in plugins folder 📂
2. Open the folder `Update Files 1.5.3 to 1.6.0`.
3. Select all its content and drag it into your server's root directory.
4. When prompted, select "Replace All" or "Overwrite".
5. Reinstall expansions.
6. Apply new resourcepack (`server.properties`)

Follow these steps carefully to upgrade your Hylead Survival experience. This process ensures all new features are implemented while keeping your player data safe.

* 💾 Backup everything: Create a full copy of your server before proceeding. Safety first!

#### 🛠️ Update Process (v1.6.0 to v1.7.0)

Follow these steps to update your server efficiently:

**Step 1: Cleanup 📂**

Delete the following folders and files from your server to ensure a clean install:

* `ModelEngine` (folder in pugins)
* `AnimatedArchitecture` (folder and plugin .jar)
* `MythicMobs` (folder in pugins)
* `geyser-spigot/packs` (folder in pugins)
* `geyser-spigot/extensions` (folder in pugins)
* `essentials/warps` (folder in pugins)
* `hub` (world folder)
* `dungeons` (world folder)

**Step 2: Apply Update Files 📦**

1. Open the "Update Files 1.6 to 1.7" folder.
2. Select all its contents and drag them into your server's root directory.
3. When prompted, select "Replace All" or "Overwrite".

**Step 3: Reinstall Expansions 🧩**

* Reinstall your desired expansions (Wild, Prehistoric, or Dungeons) into the server to ensure they are compatible with the new version.

**Step 4: Final Configuration & Restart 🚀**

1. Update the Resource Pack: Locate the new resource pack link inside the `server.properties` file within the "Update Files" folder, and update your main server's `server.properties` with this new link.
2. Restart: Start your server to apply all changes. You are good to go!
